Many people have expressed curiosity about the people behind the web site. So....a little glimpse into our backgrounds:

Jane Battles has been a lifelong GLPer, and the creator and publisher of the GLP Social Directory since its  inception. She originally started it with Jean Hanna, and now publishes it on her own, with help from her daughters. She has lived in different houses and locations at GLP, and is now at 80 Boardwalk, in a wonderful home that she has recently updated.

Jane has been a real estate broker in the Philadelphia area for 30 years, and brings her real estate expertise to GLP for the summer months, as she enjoys the beauty of family, friends, and the beach.   She is a sales associate with Stonington Real Estate Company, and would be happy to help you sell your home, buy a new one, or both. Liz Viering has been in real estate locally for 24 years, and was a Mystic banker before that. She is the owner of Stonington Real Estate Company, a Groton native, Fitch graduate, and  lucky enough to marry into an old GLP family 10 years ago. The Viering "cottage" on the Boardwalk, next to Jane, was built by her husband's grandfather in 1924, and has been in the family ever since. Her husband, Peter, a local attorney, and his brother, Russ, now own the family cottage, sharing it with children and grandchildren who cannot wait for summer to arrive so they can come back to GLP.
